Bali villa construction cost is usually the most important questions of them all. Cost are the mot important factor for any endeavour. What is common in Bali that people tend to pay far more for their villa than they need to. It is very common in Bali that the final project cost end up being far greater than the original plan. This happens mostly due to failure to settle detailed construction quotations and material description before starting the building process.

How Much Does Bali Villa Construction Cost

Building a house in Bali?

A foreigner can legally rent a piece of land (for at least 30 years) and build a house on that piece of land as well. What would be the price of renting land and building a house in Bali Indonesia?

Generally speaking, we believe that building a house anywhere in the province Bali villa construction cost are cheaper than somewhere near a tourist spot, like in Seminyak, Kuta, Ubud. It is also true that, due to lower labor costs, it is cheaper to build a house somewhere in the north of Bali than in the south. The north attracts quite a few foreigners who build their houses there but the largest number of foreigners still prefer to build houses by tourist hot spots close to the beach.

The System

After resolving all the required paperwork and planning, there are two ways to build a house in Bali:
Finding a builder team with a foreman who can or cannot provide building materials, and of course negotiating on the “price per square meter”.
You design and handle the construction of the house on your own and look for the workers and the materials on your own as well. It may be less costly, but it creates more hassle and you will still have to buy all the building materials on your own.

Bali Villa Construction Cost

The price of the house you wish to build in Bali Indonesia depends on your desired style. A western style Bali villa construction cost would be the most expensive one. The least on the other hand would be a unit-style apartment that is a modest choice of interior design (open space with few walls separating the bathroom). You can find these along most roads in Bali.
Measuring in square meters the price ranges from 5 Million to 12 Million IDR. The unit-style building would be the cheaper option and the western style luxurious villa would be the latter. Keep in mind that building a house in a popular tourist hot spot location could double these rates. Another multiplier is the amount of floors you wish to build in your house. Take the number of floors and multiply the rates. The price includes all the building materials such as cement, roof, tiles, doors, glass windows, electricity, plumbing, etc. Furniture is exluded.
In conclusion we estimate that a standard, pleasing to the eye, well constructed 2024 villa should cost around 10 Million IDR by square meter.

  • Structure Only – start from $550 per 1m2
  • With “Simple” finishing – start from $650 per 1m2
  • For “Good” finishing – start from $850 per 1m2
  • With “Luxury” finishing – start from $1100 per 1m2
  • Swimming pool cost – around $500 per 1m2 with natural stone finishing.
